In her cozy home in the La Madera neighborhood, Mónica offers affordable, relaxed, and warm cooking classes where she shares her love for the authentic flavors of Mexico.
Mónica not only masters the techniques and secrets of Mexican gastronomy but also inspires her students to enjoy fresh, local, and homemade cooking.

Her grandmother, the owner of a Mexican restaurant, was her first teacher and the reason behind her lifelong love for traditional cuisine—a passion she now shares with visitors from all over the world.

 

In an Authentic and Welcoming Environment
Each class takes place on the patio of Mónica’s home, an open-air and shaded space that reflects the essence of a Mexican home.
Here, you will learn the traditional cooking styles that are part of the daily lives of Mexican families.
To complement the experience, you will enjoy refreshing traditional beverages like hibiscus water, perfect to accompany your learning.

Explore the Market and Cook with Fresh Ingredients
Dive into the vibrant «Mercado Campesino» to select the best fresh ingredients.
Wear comfortable shoes, bring a hat, and get ready for a tour that ends at the patio of Casa Mexica, where you will transform your purchases into a delicious Mexican meal.

Hands-On Mexican Cooking Classes
Mónica will guide you step by step in preparing some of the most iconic dishes of Mexican gastronomy.

You can choose one option at a time from the following:

With a market tour:
Two options:

  1. Mexican salsas, beans, and corn tortillas.
    Nopal salad and roasted squash blossoms.
  2. Fish tacos, ceviche, and tiritas.

Without a market tour:
3. Tortilla soup, enchiladas, and chilaquiles with red and green salsas.
4. Chiles rellenos (five styles).
5. Authentic mole poblano, prepared with numerous ingredients.
6. Banana leaf tamales (nacatamales).

At the end of the class, you’ll enjoy a delicious lunch featuring the dishes you prepared yourself.
